The Zir Chemed Capital Drive
Building a Modern Center

Zir Chemed needs more staff and space urgently!
For its first five years Zir Chemed operated out of a converted basement
with space and facilities grossly inadequate to meet the needs of its
growing clientele. In recent years the clinic has moved to a ground floor
apartment in a discreet residential neighborhood.
As of today, however, our doctors are still working out of highly cramped
premises. As a result of the severe lack of space new medical personnel
cannot be taken on, resulting in a six week long waiting period for any
appointment that is not absolutely urgent. We are hoping that the ability
to hire additional personnel will reduce the waiting period in an area
where time is often crucial.
We aim to build a modern and efficient center where all necessary services will be offered beneath one convenient roof.
The new facility will include:
- 3 fertility treatment units
- A fully equipped laboratory
- Multiple waiting rooms
- Nurses’ stations
- A conference room
- Training & Lecture Halls
The presence of a nurse’s station and laboratory will allow for the provision of elementary services on-site, eliminating the hassle involved when couples need to go elsewhere for blood tests.
The two training and lecture halls planned for the new building will allow our doctors to further serve the community by providing seminars in their areas of expertise.
Perhaps the most unique aspect of the new facility, however, will be
its design. Its multiple entrances will help ensure that couples enjoy
maximum privacy and comfort when visiting the clinic.
The estimated cost of the new facility is $1.25 million, not including
equipment and furnishings.
Funds raised through the intensive efforts of long time supporters, and a dedicated cadre of Friends of Zir Chemed volunteers have already been used for the purchase of premium property in a quiet neighborhood in Jerusalem for the new building.
Preparations to go ahead with the actual building have been temporarily put on hold, however, as opportunity arose for the purchase of a small adjoining strip of land which may not be available again in future. Negotiations are currently underway for the purchase of this adjoining property – a welcome addition that will allow, in the long term, for a more efficient building plan and a better facility.
Your support is essential to bringing this innovative facility to life!
